Vincent McFadden found guilty

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting a jury in St. Louis County Circuit Court convicted Vincent McFadden this afternoon of the murder of his girlfriend's sister in 2003. The murder trial was McFadden's fourth.

The Missouri Supreme Court ordered new trials in two previous cases after appeals raised questions of racial bias in jury selection, with prosecutors accused of keeping some African-Americans off juries because of their race. In July of last year, another jury convicted McFadden of first-degree murder and affixed the punishment at death.

The punishment phase of the trial is still underway.
